From Domaine Galtier a wonderful traditional 'mas' or farm of 25 hectares at the southern end of the Saint Chinian area. 80% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre & 10% Carignan from 20 - 50 Year Old Wines. Traditiona; winemaking with temperature control & then aged for 12 Months in oak barrels ( which have been used once or twice before).
Lovely deep colour - aromas of Autumn fruits with hints of spice & gingerbread. Lovely full fruit flavours with delicately smooth tannins & long aftertaste.

Cahors wines are traditionally big bold & very tough & unyielding. This wine from Chateau Lamartine is exceptional - made from 90% Auxerois also known as Cot (or Malbec) with 10% Merlot - is a lovely wine - superbly balanced & strong but not tough or hard. Liquorice & red fruits dominate the flavour. This wine is great now but also has good ageing potential of 10 years plus. One of the Cru Classe Cahors Wines - selected & widely acclaimed as one of the top ten Cahors wines. One of my favourites. Red Meat..........

The region is famous & distinct as a red wine producing area using the NEGRETTE Grape variety. A big bold stonking red grape variety. With this wine it is balanced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & Syrah.
A wine with a brilliant deep red colour. Strong & velvety with structure & flavour of ripe red fruits. The tannins are evident - but are smooth & soft - a characteristic of Negrette. Red meats & cheeese. Ageing potential 2 - 6 Years. Well recommended.

Elegant touches of blackcurrant & violets,, on the palate there is a deep firmness with a harmonious flavour of truffles & wood finishishing with elegant soft negrette tannins. SUPERB & really recommended. Red meats game & hard cheese....

Nadine Adenis (a freelance wine journalist) has devoted all her time, energy & considerable knowledge of winemaking into two magnificent wines. This 'La Mariole' comes from a small 2 hectare plot & is 100% Carignan. Carignan is the traitional grape of the Corbieres Region - very old vines with an average of over 60 years - with low yields of 18 hectolitres per hectare ( normal is 60+)
A full bodied ,well-balances & expressive wine. Smooth & dry with gentle flavours. A wine to enjoy with Roast Lamb & similar dishes.
