Very similar to really good Rioja but fresher smoother fruitier & deeper. A full-bodied style from mainly Carignan with Cabernet, Merlot, Tempranillo, & Grenache. A great red wine - highly recommended & worth more than £10.95!!!

From this wonderful, Espelt Estate a lovely red - good easy drinking. Red fruits & spices on the nose which just keep returning in the mouth. This is Grenache & Carinena. A lovely full bodied wine with a long & pleasing aftertaste. This wine will develop & improve if kept for a couple of years, but is great now.

85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuela, harvested exclusively from the high, dry chalk clay vineyards in the far northwest of Rioja Alta around the village of Villalba.
Stylish, bright ruby red, very intense in colour. Complex, deep long nose with fine ruby red and black autumn fruit aromas with some toasty oak, a hint of balsamic and some fine oak spices. Full and meaty in the palate with great depth and a fine, long, velvety satisfying finish.

This excellent Gran Reserva is outstanding. Deeply balanced, well structured oak & vanilla. Lay it down if you can curb your impatience.
Tempranillo 85%, Graciano 10% Mazuelo 5%
Elegant and attractive nose, showing good intensity of ripe fruit, and some spicy oak notes. On the palate it is fine and long, full of rich fruit flavour and ripe tannins. It has great, lively intensity, rich finesse, and a long classic finish.
