Saransot Dupré's red wine has always been marked by fully-mature tannins joined together with a supple and round personality. This is a joint ventre between long standing friends Ernie Els (golfing legend) & Jean Engelbrecht.
The different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot are kept separate (micro-vinified) throughout vinification. Vinified in 300 litre French oak barrels for 20 months, the wine underwent bottle maturation for a further18 months. This wine is made in a full robust style and has the potential to age in excess of twenty years.
Dark ruby.
Hints of floral, herbs, pencil shavings and leather, supported by red and dark berry flavours.
Earthy and mineral, wild berries, mocha, this wine is forever changing in the glass. Firm tannins and French Oak seamlessly integrated, with dried fruit flavours that linger nicely on the slightly dry finish. Larger than life tannins will ensure good ageing. Decant!
