Purchasing and Proof of Age Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, postal mail or over the Internet.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

We will not sell to anyone who is not 18 years of age or over, as the law requires.
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
If you are buying a product/s as a gift - the recipient must also be over 18 years old.
Shipping and Breakages We offer free next working day delivery to most UK mainland addresses for 12 bottles & above. Pricing for less than 12 bottles is listed on the Deliveries page on our website.

Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, offshore mainland UK and International subject to a Surcharge.

Upon receipt of your order, the order should be carefully inspected to make sure that it is intact and in full. The courier must be informed of breakages or shortages at the time of delivery. We will not accept any claims for breakages or shortages unless they are stated on the couriers documentation. We must have confirmation of these breakages or shortages within 7 days of delivery.
Delivery We deliver your order right away. We will normally send your order to you in 2-3 business days . Delivery times may be affected if there are stock availability problems or other unforeseen circumstances.

If our courier attempts delivery at the delivery address, specified in the order, or as a fall-back attempts delivery with a neighbour but cannot deliver the Products, the courier will retain the Products and will leave a calling card with a Customer Services telephone number for you to call in order to arrange re-delivery. Please note that the courier company can only arrange a specific re-delivery date, and cannot arrange a specific time.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we contact you to advise on expected delivery or to suggest an alternative.
Tax Charges All of the prices displayed on our website include VAT.
Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit SSL encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer sytstem. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Vintages Please note that we try to maintain our Vintages as described in our Catalogue but cannot guarantee that the vintage you receive will be the same as descibed as stock changes rapidly. If you require a specific vintage please telephone & check availability.

Returns and Cancellations Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

You may cancel your order at any time until seven days after the goods are received, but you will be liable for the initial delivery cost. You will be responsible for returning the products to us at your own cost.
The goods must arrive back at our Collection Depot unopened and undamaged. You can cancel your order by emailing our Customer Services on info@yorkwines.co.uk
You will then be sent an email with details of your RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) number and the returns address. The RMA number must be clearly displayed on your returned order. Orders returned without first obtaining an RMA number will not be accepted.
All credits will be issued within 30 days of the cancellation, provided the goods have been returned within that period.
