Cloudy Bay is a wine producer from New Zealand which is the sister company of the Cape Mentelle yard of Australia. The Bay vineyards were established in nineteen eighty five with the annual crush topping one thousand, two hundred tonnes. The main varieties are sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and my personal favourite, Pinot Noir. The Cloudy Bay Company export their produce to twenty countries and have a large presence in the United Kingdom, the States, Japan and mainland Europe. The historians amongst you will recognise the name from that given to the part Wairau Valley where Captain Cook landed and he named, Cloudy Bay.
