Sparkling wine is not what you might think, sometimes, well nearly all the time, when sparkling wine is mentioned the automatic reaction is to make a yuk face and think of the ghastly Lambrini type drink. But not all sparkling wines are the same, some are excellent and here we will take a look at some of the best.
Nyetimber Classic Cuvee from England. It is an outstanding Champagne Style Sparkling Wine from the Nyetimber Estate in West Sussex England, Yes, we said it again, England. This wine from Chardonnay Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is made in the true tradition of Champagne but has the added benefit of being aged for a minimum of six Years on the Lees in the cellars. Normal champagne is only aged for eighteen months. This wine comes highly recommended by anyone and everyone who love sparking wine.
With summer approaching we recommend a little Italian number or Prosecco di Valdobbiadene to give it its Sunday name. This is a lovely wine which is not too dry, it is actually really refreshing and light only gently sparkling making it perfect for summer evenings, should we ever get some in England, but if you live in the sun this is perfect and if your not try it anyway.
