The original Chateau de Gicon was built on the site of an ancient Celtic village at the pinnacle of a rocky outcrop. The Chateau overlooks the Rhone Valley with superb views of the French Provinces Provence, Languedoc, and Auvergne Dauphine. Now just the remains of the Chateau exist but it is slowly being restored by the new owners - Chusclan Vignerons.
The wine is big smooth and powerful and with lovely warming notes. Soft smooth and flavoursome on the palate with gentle spicy notes and hints of white pepper at the finish. The perfect accompaniment to red meats and cheese but also fine with most dishes because of its smooth intensity.
The 2019 Vintage was so big & powerful with amazing concentration that unusually this Vintage is 15.5% Proof - so please be careful - also puts the wine into a higher duty classification hence a small jump in price........
