Bolgrad Pinot Grigio, Ukraine, 2023
Bolgrad winery within South Odesa’s traditional wine-making centre, is the number one still wine brand in Ukraine and deservedly so. The vineyards are situated between Yalpug, the biggest fresh water lake in Eastern Europe, and the Black Sea so it has a unique terroir between two air masses – salt and pure.
The vines thrive in this ideal grape growing climate with warm long summers, mild winters and limestone rich soils. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel to preserve fruit purity. White wines spend at least a couple of months on lees for added texture
Pale lemon in colour. Light bodied. Refreshing acidity balances well with ripe fruity notes of citrus, white blossom and a touch of lychee. Pairs perfectly with white meat, fish dishes and vegetables
