Château Batailley Pauillac 2018
This grand old Bordeaux estate lying just to the west of Chateau Latour has a reputation for consistent quality year after year which is rightly justified.
Château Batailley is classified as a 5ème Cru Classé and sits in the prestigious appellation of Pauillac in the Médoc.
The 2018 vintage comprises around 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and with around 18 months spent in oak barriques, it has masses of ripe, sweet and polished red and black fruits followed by toasty vanilla notes. It`s not overly firm but the tannins are nicely supple and well balanced by a fresh acidity. An engaging slight sweetness shows at the finish making it a very enticing wine.
