Domaine La Croix Montjoie Vézelay L`Impatiente 2022
The estate covers ten hectares in the village of Tharoiseau, one of the four villages that makes up the Vezelay appellation, which was created in 2017 and is exclusively for white wines. The wines here share the chiselled, mineral character of Chablis, which is a mere 30 miles north, but with a more expressively fruity character. Among the very few in Burgundy to have all their vines in one single parcel, Sophie and Matthieu are certified organic and farm on clay and limestone rich soils.
Aged for nine months on the lees in stainless steel, Impatiente is a chardonnay that has beautiful crystalline white fruits and white flowers on the nose with a lovely roundness on the palate. The limestone in the soils brings nice saline aromas at the end of the mouth.
