3 years on from the release of a sister cask in DRCC58, this heavily peated Bunnahabhain is both fresh and bright, yet with an oyster shell oiliness lending weight to the palate. A maturing malt captured perfectly in transition from punchy youth to mellow middle age. Colour: Soft gold. Nose: Grilled grapefruit, seared whitebait and lemon zest. Palate: Roast hazelnut, greasy peat and fiery cinnamon. Finish: Slick, oily and redolent of Hebridean haar.
