Meet the team...
Face behind the Wheel – Dave Murray, Team Member
Dave works as a driver, and picker and packer in our warehouse, across wholesale, retail and internet orders. He’s also hard and so it’s a bitterly cold day that forces Dave into long sleeves!
How long at York Wines? 15 months
Previous career? I worked as an Aircraft Engineer at RAF Linton On Ouse for 22 years, maintaining the training aircraft used by future RAF Fast Jet Pilots.
Best bit about working at York Wines? All the team at York Wines are very friendly and great to work with. I get to visit some lovely locations, and customers alike, whilst I'm out delivering wine
Favourite wine? Of the whites I love Gravel & Loam, a New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and the Chilean Artizan Smooth Red which is a big favourite at York Wines
If you could share a glass of wine with anyone (from any period in time), who would it be and what wine would you choose? I've been a fan of the guitarist and musician, Eric Clapton, since the age of 15 years old so it would have to be Eric, and the wine I would choose would be my favourite, Chilean Artisan Smooth Red.

A series of evening tasting events taking place on the last Wednesday of every month, at York Wines' fabulous Moor Farm premises.
Join us to chat about, and taste some lovely, interesting and more unusual wines in a relaxed and informal setting.
Wine Wednesdays will give you the perfect opportunity to try before you buy!
We have a number of visiting producers and suppliers throughout the year, who will be showcasing their ranges, and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
For just £7.50 per person, per evening, you will be able to taste a minimum of 5 wines, and if you buy 12 tickets in advance, you will just pay for 10.

Welcome to our Shop
On 1st November 2022 we moved to our new home at Moor Farm from our previous base at Wellington House in Sheriff Hutton. It's fair to say that we had outgrown our space there and a wonderful opportunity arose to create our own purpose built premises enabling us to have a bigger retail space and room to host tasting events.
In our shop you will find all our wines on display, as well as the local bottled beers and gin we sell. We also have a small but perfectly formed selection of whisky.
Our opening hours are:
Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm
Saturday - 10.30am to 4.30pm
